Keith McSherry is a full time artist living and working in Cumbria. Keith has a background in engineering and has worked in local industries for many years. A set of encyclopaedias left by his late father triggered within him a fascination in art and inspired him to learn how to paint.
Keith predominately paints in oils but also experiments with other media. He cites among his influences the Post Impressionists and Expressionists especially Van Gogh and also local artists such as Sheila Fell.
Keith produces work which includes landscapes, still lives and portraiture. Although he prefers to let his work speak for itself, he endeavours to seek out lesser known, more obscure scenes and compositions, to give the viewer an alternative perspective into the uncherished, ignored or forgotten world around them.
